Gussco Manufacturing LLC was organized in 1918 as a New York corporation under the name of Guide System & Supply Company, Inc. We were initially located in New York City in a loft building on lower Broadway. In 1921, the business was moved to one floor of a six story building on Canal Street.

By the late 1940’s, the company occupied the entire building and part of an adjoining building. One of our early employees, Abraham Beame, later became the Mayor of New York.
In 1955, the company purchased a 40,000 square foot building on Franklin Street to supplement its other facilities. In 1967, the company expanded into a 180,000 square foot factory in Brooklyn, New York.

Unlike Gussco's original facility, which was built as a post Civil War hotel, the Brooklyn plant was constructed as a manufacturing facility which allowed Gussco to grow efficiently for many years. In 1997, outgrowing our Brooklyn facility, Gussco leased additional manufacturing space in New Jersey. We continued to operate both plants until 2006.
We are proud to announce that we have now combined our two manufacturing facilities into one new factory in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, very close in proximity to major shipping routes.
The new factory is on one level with new quality tested production layouts which will result in increased efficiencies and reduced delivery times for both stock and custom filing products.

Custom-made filing products are an important part of Gussco's overall business. Companies often need specialized filing products in order to maintain control and organize vital files and cases. Custom filing products improve productivity and reduce errors. Custom made wallets are often used for meetings, training programs, for clients or other image building activities. Many of the largest law firms, banks and corporations rely on Gussco products.

New product innovations include folders that resist spills and avoid paper cuts and special Archival File Folders for storage of long term documents. These are manufactured using WaterShed®/Cutless® and EverFile® Folder stocks specially formulated by International Paper Company.

Our headquarters is now located in New York City, in the midst of the largest business center in the United States.
Sales are made on a nation-wide basis through retailers, contract stationers, and specialty dealers. Gussco covers the entire United States with a network of independent Sales Representatives.
